im very unsure on what to buy next, i have an aquarium but ive pestered and pestered my mum and dad whether i can have something else.
im looking at getting either a red eyed tree frog, a bearded dragon, or a poison dart frog.
in your opinion which one should i buy, money is not really a problem :good:
thanks

haha my aunt has one but he is very docile, but he loves basking in the uv
i want one which is quite active, is there anyway i can refrain them from being docile?

Ive found they get docile with age, younger they are the more active they tend to be unless it's feeding time and even the older 1's are suprisingly quick lol..... they are superb pets and would recommended them to anydody that has the time to give them the attention they need (and that is quite alot).

thanks for that jen :good:
what size vivarium to i need to buy, and do you recommend any in particular?
also what do i need to buy before i can get my beardie?

Vivarium size for life 4x2x2 some say 4x18x18 but i still think this is a little small, you could get 3x15x15 but be prepared to upgrade and you will have to.

thermostate... most use the habistat and i have and works perfect.

light fitting ie. same as you would for an aquarium and make sure you by the correct one for the correct uv light(light is very important)

and a basking bulb ..... normal bayanet fitting with a spot bulb( 100 watt is what i used for my 4x2x2 viv)

and a good substrate..... not sand, not wood chipping or bark.... make your self a slate tile base this way its easy to clean and no risk of the beardie ingesting anythink.

then the usual water bottle for misting a thermometer which measures humidity aswell and a water bowl.. shallow (this isnt actually important becasue in the wild the would drink water that has collected on leaves etc etc) ive always put a shallow water bowl in just incase but that just me lol.

Last but not least baby crickets ... rule to feed is cricket size no bigger than the area between each eye.

think thats it lol

EDITED: just to mention you will need to supply veg on a daily basis fresh(check a bearded dragon caresheet through google for suitable veg) and a a calcium suppliment which you dust on the criskets prior to feeding.

The bearded dragons are an omnivorous lizards,in the wild they feed on(leaves, insects, small mammals and other smaller lizards).in capitivity they are bieng fed(meal worms, crickets, mice and pinky mice). They are quit social and active once youg while they gain in age they get more docil.

If you get frogs you wont be able to handle them. They are hands off pets and more show animals.
