clearly i just can't say "no more bettas." it doesn't work. does not compute.
i lost my precious vader. that stupid el dorado tank with no light, i couldn't see him as well as i ought and didn't know he was ill until it was too late
i told watt, the breeder, as i was moping and miserable over his loss. watt offered me one just like him for $15. of course i agreed, because everyone needs a little vader-style gorgeousness in their lives. he can't replace my vader, but i still would like to have one. he then offered to give me a good discount if i got anything else i needed, so of course i look a look around aquabid. after many times looking at fish like this, i finally decided to call one mine.
$20 for that green marble, and then he said i could pick a free betta. i chose this one, a copper hm plakat
then i discovered he had giants. i showed him photos of thor and titan, and he found me a girl to match thor. for $5 (really $10 but he's picking up the $5 air cargo):
did i mention last night i caved and got two fancy gold hm plakats for $13 from a guy in hawaii?
with the sudden influx of new fish, i've found myself inundated. at present time i have 35 betta splendens, 4 betta coccina, and 2 betta pugnax. i made the difficult decision to rehome some of the boys, specifically blueberry, pippin, and aranince, as well as one of the fancy gold hm plakat boys. they will be graciously taken in by a good friend and bettakeeper in another state when we meet up at a concert at the end of the month. i'm lucky they're going to such a good home, or i don't think i would be able to part with them!
