ive wanted kuli's for awhile now but dont have the space...Ive heard that if you have a bunch you can see them more often...@1 of the LFS they have "jumbo" kuli's and there huge...are these just adults or is it a different species?
We see ours everyday, as suggested by Braddah they need to be kept in groups if you want to see more of them, they are very social animals. I dont know the size of your tank but i would suggest at least 5 per 10 gallons.
i keep four kuhliis in my ten gallon, all purchased fromt eh saem store at the same time, and they're ALWAYS out and about. they uproot baby plants and replant them, flip shells, dig holes, harass Tetras and goof around at all hours. if they're supposed to be nocturnal bitties these guys sure haven't been told that
i often don't see mine because they hide inside a piece of bogwood because it has holes a bit like caves and tunnels inside and they spend all the time in there
