soo.. if you got to choose a new tank for free to replace any tank you already have or just to get another one what fish would you put in it and what style tank would you choose??

i think id go for a big planted bowfront tank and stock it with female bettas OR id set up a cichlid lake malawi tank buit into my wall:D

how about you guys?? (by the way this has got to be realistic)

Well, if I had all the time & money I would need - I would love a nice big bowfront with discus.

i would do one of those bullet shaped tanks and make it a room divider.

I got my dream tank 7 wks ago 6ft bow fronted. It took 1yr and a leaking external filter to pursued other half but got there finally. As for fish happy with what I've got

Mbu Puffers Tank (2000Gallons :D)
Fahaka Puffer Tank (6x2x2)
Reef Tank (80g)
Archerfish Pauldarium (8x3x2)

Optimism is a hobby of mine ;)

something along the lines of a 500G Reef or FOWLR tank.
stocking? the entire cast of finding nemo (sans turtles and sharks of course).

My sisters b/f was telling us about his wealthy friend who has had half his lounge, hallway and kitchen basement turned into an underfloor aquarium - so the floor you walk on is actually very thick glass and you are literally walking on TOP of the aquarium, seeing all the fish swimming beneath you!! They have some huge generator type machinery running it (bills must be a fortune) and they need a professional to come and maintain it all for them.

So - if money were no object I think I'd like a similar set up (maybe not as many rooms, though) - and with a tank that size oh what fun I'd have choosing fish!! I love cichlids so would probably venture along those lines...

I wonder if the fish can hear you walking on the glass, though - especially us women in high heels!! No, surely they wouldn't have designed something like that. Must be such thick glass that any surface noise is blocked out. I hope!

A tank large enough for a pod of Bottlenose Dolphins and various marine fish, inverts and corals. Would want it to be huge though about 80ft L x 60ft W x 15ft H. Would hold about 2,038,813 Litres, 538,597 US Gallons. I Can Dream
