will this hurt my fish I read one of these forums on this once before but I cant remeber where I found it but I cant remeber if they said if it would hurt them or not. could some one tell me if this will hurt my pleco or the rest of my fish.

White hair algae sounds more like fungus than any algae problem. Could be too much uneaten food or pieces of rotten bogwood in the tank. This fungus will not actually harm the fish but it's not good in a tank, making the fish much more susceptible to infection if they are stressed or injured.
Get5 out the gravel vac, scrub the wood and cut down on the food would be my advice.
