Finally, I got one. For those who don't know. favites is a brain coral also known as a pineapple, moon or honeycomb coral. They are LPS, large polyp stony corals and contain zooxanthellae, ie, are photosynthetic. They DO extend sweeper tentacles at night so they need room. SH

That's funny Chac...I'm going to have to hold here. If another FEDEX box shows up at the door, my wife may have me sleeping on the couch. ROFL. SH

HIDE THE BOX...HIDE THE BOX!!!! LOLOL. SH

I know nothing of marine keeping, but I adore corals, so interesting to look at. And this brain coral is really neat. I could stare at it for hours.

Curious, what does it look like when it has its sweeper tentacles extended?

I'll try and take a pic.....the polyps look retracted and you see small brown waving tentacles out. I'll try and photo it for you tonite. SH

With moderate lighting, brains can be placed at any level. I chose bottom because they can have sweeper tentacles and be aggressive..and also. makes a good centerpiece coral. They like medium flow. SH

ditto on the sweeper tentacles, my closed brain get sweepers that are about 6 inches long!
