Having lost 90% of my previous batch due to a stupid water change..... I am back at the drawing board with my new batch (of 100 eggs) which arrived today.... "Their hatch by" date is 27th August 2010. This gives me one week to prepare....

I got a mixture of 6 types of Nothobranchius... (which is already against my principles).... (last time I got a mix of 3 types & decided not to get mixes again as the females are impossible to differentiate), but these are the ones in my current batch.....

Stunning set of fish :) Best of luck, I hope that problem never occurs again.
My fishkeeping has allways been in a very flexible mood...... and currently it is at a low..... So, I decided to just dump these eggs into one of my outside ponds (bare for 3 months) and see what happens..... If I lose all of them.... so be it. (allthough, my instincts tells me that it might work).

If you remember back, I suggested this to you when you first started this venture.
You have the climate to facilitate such an experiment and I too share you optimism
Keep us posted.

The eggs have been in there for several days now, but I still see nothing yet.... I found this fella in the pond this afternoon, so hope he did no damage..... He is the second one in the past week.

Now, maybe I just did not release him far enough away from my ponds, because tonight.... he is singing his love songs from below all of the ponds.... Just hope he does not attract female attention and moves back in.....

If there's on certainty he will take up residence, he's found a water hole or three and he's the boss around these parts. Now try getting rid of him. Take a drive.
