It is advertised as a Baby Faced Eel (Anguilla Semigrammus)
For a pic go here:

On the left of the hand side of the page is a contents list. Click on Oddballs and Tropicals and the second eel down is the one I need identifying. I have searched for the name given but to no avail. If anyone knows any info can you tell me please.

it looks like whats commonly known as a freshwater morey eel. they actually need brackish water but survive in freshwater. the get to about 3' and will eat small fish. Make sure that there are no holes in the covers as it will be out!

hope this helps.

By small fish, how small do you mean and will they kill anything in the tank

when i say small, i meant small enough to fit into its mouth. for a 10" fish, i would not have tank mates of less than 2". most brakish fish grow to at least 6" so you should be ok.

ste :)

The fish is a gold spot moray Gymnothorax tile, they are a brackish fish and do not do well in the long run if kept in freshwater. They are sensative to nitrates and can be difficult to feed, often only accepting live foods such as shrimps and small fish.
