Identification Help Please

It's a worm, the size seen is around 2 inch's (I've never seen it fully out so it could be longer)

No idea how it got into the tank (but assuming it was within a hole of some live rock and has grown over time)

Only comes out at night, and seems to "grab" food spare on the floor (you'll note I dropped alot near it so that he would "come out")

Cheers
Matt

id say that rock fell on a tarantula walking by

its a common bristle worm. good scavengers and can be extra ood for some fish and inverts. Just dont touch one :good:

I have read on a lot of sites now not to touch them but not really seen a reason why, I presume it will result in something nasty but what exactly do they do?

the bristles go on ur skin and makes it painful but itchy i think?

Just dont touch them. Getting stung by the spines hurts a lot and will leave red welts depending on how sensetive you are to them. Its rare to get a bristle worm sting as they're pretty skittish. If you're moving rocks in the tank though, I'd wear gloves since they usually hide under them ;)
