I am having ideas floating around in my head for my tank. I want to go planted and already have had success with Anubis.

Here is the plan:

3 / 4 slates, use soil on top of the slate quite thin, plant the plants in the thin soil and cover with fish net to hold it all together. I could then just place the slate where I want it and even remove if I want.

If that sounds like a plan then I would use again Anubis in the center, some kind of fern/sword around the Anubis, grass type plant covering the rest like a carpet.

Anyone got advice for me with planting please.

not to sound rude, but i'm unsure what you're asking? :good:

That's ok, I'm not the best at writing down what I mean.

My idea was use a flat piece of slate, lay some soil on top of the slate and plant in the soil. To hold it all together use some fish net.

why would you need to plant into soil?

Take for example, if you were to use riccia on a slate, you'd just place the riccia on the slate, and then rap with fishing line or a hairnet.

Thanks for that, I am not sure what I am doing with plants so I could do with all the advice avalible. So I dont need any Substrate at all and use the slate to attach the plants?

To lay on my existing tank floor I think a couple of flat pieces of slate would be an easy option.

What I wand is a large Centre Piece plant, also want grass type floor, maybe a two other plants in the front.

Can someone help with advice on this please, hopefully something I can get at my LFS.

Thanks
