i have a lot of tanks, which means a lot of water changes weekly, and as i pay a small fortune for my water bills i was wondering how i could perhaps re-use the water?

would it be safe to use on the plants/garden or would it not be healthy? any other ideas?

Defo safe for the garden and plants, I re-use all my water (at least I did over the drier periods) to water my outside planters and stuff :)

edit-except when i was using meds in the tank of course!

Yep its completely safe for the garden - ultimately its tap water with fish s**t mixed in.

Works wonders on plants - I use tank water on any dry spots in my lawn and it sorts them out better than running the sprinklers for an hour every day.

I use all my water change water on the garden and in the house plants, they thrive with it.

I have got a big cordyerline (think the spelling wrong?) palm type plant in the garden started using fish water on it now it over 6 feet tall :hyper:

fish poop is just like a realy good fertilizer

Its Great to use on plants as its part firtilised with nitates (Plants feed on this)

I have always found my plants look healthy after using it.

I use my waste water on plants in the garden and on house plants. When I can get fertile water for house plants at no charge I figure why not. I also use some of the waste water as makeup for my green water culture. It feeds the green water as well as it does the house plants. The green water is for a daphnia culture that I have been experimenting with.
