I'm not really into marine tanks as such but love Seahorse so I'm going to be getting a 100ltrish tank in the near future and I'm after ideas as to what to put in the tank.

I was thinking of 1 pair of seahorses, either a regualr or purple firefish goby. yellow clown goby or watchman goby and pistol shrimp, sixline wrasse.

Also like the mandarin dragonet, but I've read they aren't really suitable as my tank won't be big enough to provide enough foraging room and it will starve. Same with clown I've read they will stress the seahorses alot.

Feel free to opinionize me!

Cheers :good:

i would inagine the sixline wrasse would also be unsuitable due to beiung quite active and quick to feed. you need slow feeers with seahorses as they are slow and may not get the chance to feed

Hi and :hi: to the salty side.
I don't know much about seahorses to be honest, except that they need a lot of time and care, they need lots of feeding, a pristine mature tank, which is peacefull. I really don't think clowns would be a good idea, but mandarin and firefish might be ok you can supplement the mandarin diet by adding copepods each week, they are very easy to culture. but best to wait at least 6 months before adiing to a new set up.
I found this http://www.seahorse.org/library/articles/t...tankmates.shtml which you might find helpful :good:

I know Kelwoo has got a seahorse tank may be she can point you in the right directon

Before starting your tank I would recommend you do as much research as possible

Argeed with the Sixline Wrasse probably not the best choice after all if it's going to be fast and eating alot.

Great webiste Trod, thats going to come in really helpful.

Agreed about the research, got a couple of books asbout Marine tanks, and threads like this are also forming part of my research :good:
