Hello there, just taken on some 'proven breeding Ancistrus' plecos. I have two slate caves that are rectangular however they don't seem to be interested in the caves. There is a good amount of plants/cover around the caves. Is there anything else I can use?

Thankyou,

Tim.

Give them time to explore their new habitats, if after a week they haven't gone anywhere near it, coconut shells work wonders.

Yeah, but the trouble with these is that the gap in which they enter the pot is too big.

What i did with one was snapped a small piece from the edge with pliers then sanded down any left over rough edges so that the pot could be put upside down with only one entrance about the size of a 50p, and plug the hole at the top by sitting a pebble or peice of slate over it or stuff it with java moss
