although I am nowhere near positive, it kind of looks like some type
of aptasia, which would be a very bad thing that you definitely do not want!

hopefully someone else will be able to give you a more definite answer.
 
Looks like some sort of tube worm (feather duster).

Harmless and is a filter feeder. Dont purchase any butterfly fish or arrowhead crabs as these will eat them :/

No specialist feeding or lighting is needed for them as they get their food from nutrients in the tank

do you know how big they get?
 
Good question. There are many diffferent species, but I have never witnessed any explosive growth from any.

And as Navarre said, they will take care of themselves as long as water quality is kept good.

On thing they do dislike is crowding though. So keep any future additions well away from its reach.
