Can anyone ID this fish?

rasboraqqqax0.jpg

The store only knows the price. I'm guessing it is a larger Rasbora species (probably 3"TL, they are 1.5"-2" now), but which one?

TIA

I'm thinking Rasbora aurotaenia Pale rasbora

Thanks, TheWolf,

Certainly, there are close similarities to the image of R.Aurotaenia I found.

I've never kept large Rasboras (this is 15cm=6"), this may be pretty interesting. No surprises, right? (docile behavior, need 6+ for a school, does not mind some current).
If I actually grab them, it would be for a 125g which currently has 9 *very ugly* rainbows (+loaches).

Difficult to say. The caudal looks out of proportion to the body size which implies there is a lot of growing to do. Fish often change markedly during growth, as you know of course. It is the kind of thing I'd have bought when I was into that kind of thing, just to see what they turned into.

Never met an aggressive Rasbora.

Cheers, LL.

Never knew this happens with Rasboras.. (just kiddin').

Actually I have a neat example of how it changes: I have a 0.5" yoyo in my qtank right now...it does not know how to spell its name yet. [I vaguely remember you keep them?] Want to see?
