hello there, havnt posted on here in a while. well anyways a few years ago my dad was sold this as a magnum pleco but recently while looking on the internet we came across "stardust golden nugget" and we think are "magnum" pleco is very similar could yous help me out here please on your opinions

looked it up, it doesn't seem to have the wee spots like this one i see where your coming from tho

I read they can have the spots but not always.

It's not a Golden Nugget as their spots are bigger... Magnum don't have spots either, it's basically the Mango Pleco.

yea he does have golden nuggets but if you look up stardust golden nugget you will see where im coming from

All I can't of is either Starlight Golden Nugget or you've got a spotty Mango Pleco

This is quite clearly a Gold nugget, Mnago/Magnum do not have any spots

ok thank you, are they any "Rarer" than other type of golden nuggets as i have not seen this before

Don't know really, not that I'm aware of.

It's just a regional variant of Baryancistrus xanthellus afaik.

There is one nugget that hasn't been described yet.
