Hi my friend has a plec and she would like to know what species it is. shes had it around 2 years and it is about 7-8in inc tail.
she would also like to know why it changes colour, i have attached some pics, when its still and hiding its blotchy but when moving about it has bright colours with no blotches. thanks

thats a common plec i believe if its at 8'' then its still got some growing left to do. the blotches are a bit of a camouflage

The tank looks very bright and sparsely decorated, which could explain the colour changes, plecs are generally nocturnal and shy. if it doesn't have many places to hide away, it could be stressed at times which is when it'll look pale or blotchy.
