Id On Live Rock Growing Thing

can anyone id these things.. there like little twigs growing from the rock. only noticed them about 6 days ago and they seem to be growing pretty quick. is it just sticks or something lol

Probably just little macroalgaes.

Macroalgaes are still a pretty good find. Some of them even resemble branching corals.

I had a lot on my LR when I first got it but dont have any anymore.

Iv also got some on my LR and they are a good thing as macrpalgaes help keep nitrates down!

Dont be sad if those dont grow much or if theyre just gone one day. Fish any other critters tend to munch on the little sprouts like that.

only have a starfish and 1 clown fish the rest of my stuff are stuck in place like zoas and featherduster. i dont keep snails, crabs etc so they should grow nicely. CUC waste of time if you ask me theres always something wich will eat your corals or kill your fish.. i prefer to not to keep them and clean my tank myself

Well that is one way of going about things but what about all the waste and detritus etc that you cannot get to in the tank? A CUC would sure help!

i pic up spare food from the rocks i dont over feed so theres hardly any at all, i may get a few snails but need to research more first, to many ppl hae corals bitten or fish killed by snails and crabs etc so im not to bother.. plus i hate them they make the tank look ugly lol. i have a linckia blue starfish he is always on the glass though hardly ever goes onto the rocks

oh and tank is 3ft long, 2 ft high and about 1 1/2 ft wide

thanks, they sure are. had prob feeding it at first but worked out a way and it seems happy enough in the tank. no probs so far
