From the first pic it looks like a golden CAE, which isnt a loach but a very aggressive algae eater.

aggressive,he he it gets bullied by my 3 month old molly fry, spends most its time hiding, must admit it did go after my platty the first time it went in the tank but now it stays well away.

That is defo a golden CAE. If you werent trying to get a CAE then many people will suggest you should get rid of it as it will be very aggressive.

He isnt aggressive now because its a baby... when it gets bigger it will defo be. I remember when mine was one inch and very cute. Then it later on got aggressive... but mine was very nice actually because it didnt get aggressive till 4 inch. When i gave him to a store, the store's CAEs (only 2 inches) chased everything, including my CAE...

they are calm until 3"+ then they will kill everything
kill? :( but he looks so sweet i just needed something to get rid of algea, my tanks no where near big enough for aplec and shrimp creep me out, and the snials were rubbish at it. i was keeping the glass clean manually but everything in my tank was covered in the stuff. hes about 2 inches long now and did chase a few fish about but leaves them now. i guess id be best getting rid of him once hes a bit bigger but i dont know anywher ethat takes fish round here they looked at me sdeways when i offered them mollies a while back.
my bad photography skills ( though they shouldnt be) and its probably common.

if you want to get rid of algae, dont leave your tank lights on as much and don't over feed.
