Hi

my nano has been up and running for four weeks now, this started to grow out of my LR after bout 1 week. I was wondering if someone could ID this for me please.

Humm, almost looks like a Coralimorph anemone or even a Duncanopsamnia? Does it have a hard skeleton? Does it close up at night?

Hi thanks for the reply

I'm new to the marine side, could you tell me what you mean by hard skeleton and how do I test ? They do close up at night. Also someone on another forum suggested that they look like majano anemones can anyone confirm if they are. Are these good or bad ?

Thanks

COULD be mojano, although the coloration and tentacle shape doesn't match up. Mojano nems are all closely related to the generic "Corallimorph" anemone. They can be pests if they grow too fast.

By hard skeleton I mean when you touch it with your fingers, does it feel like there's rock underneath the flesh, or does it just have a soft body?

Seems like kind of the wrong tentacle arrangement for it to be Corynatcis or Pseudocorynactis, although it's tough to tell from the photo and there are a lot of weird looking things in both genera that aren't well documented.
