I know this is a terrable picture but its nowhere near as bad as the conditions as my lfs has this fish in. They said they dont know what it is and have labled it "Large puffer" it has been in a 12" tank for nearly 4 months now! Would love to give it a home but need info first.

Its a ceylon , topaz , green puffer etc. Tetraodon fluviatilis

ive been seeing more and more of puffers lately,
i keep cichlids and i do quiet like puffers, i know i need at least 10 gallons, but just what is the advantage of keeping them over cichlids ? can you keep them in groups ? can you have an inter species tank ?
anybody have some info for me :)

I find them to be more personable than my cichlids, but they're very different fish. Puffers don't always do so well in groups, and are less predictable than even unpredicatable cichlids. Puffers are occasionally difficult to treat for illness, tend to be more expensive than cichlids I've found, and are trickier to feed (most won't take prepared food).

However they're full of personality, look great, and are fun to watch. :)
