My fish have ich :( Ive never had this in my aquarium before, so any advice will be greatly appreciated!

It started on one cardinal tetra, as soon as I saw it I put in a heater & added Quick Cure. Temp is around 84-86 & Ive done 2 doses of Quick Cure (today & yesterday), half the dose as I have tetras, corys, and loaches.

So far it has spread to two other tetras, and no one else as far as I can tell. Ive read you are supposed to treat for 1-2 weeks, but I'm not sure how to go about this as the Quick Cure label doesn't really explain that too well. I assume I should treat, then do a water change & treat again, but how much & how often & how long?

I also netted out a dead fish the other day, before I saw the ich. Do I need to do anything special to de-ich it so I don't infect other tanks? My endlers finally had some babies & I don't want them to get it!

You can't get ich while it's on the fish, you gota wait till it drops off to reproduce. That takes a while, you can't get rid of it in a day or two. Just keep following the directions on label of the med you have and that should take care of it. When my fish had ich I used malachite green and within a week it was gone. Just keep treating and keep the temp raised (82-84 is fine) and it should be gone in no time.

The website says the max dosage is 2 doses in a 48 hour period, so I think I should do a water change before I add more? How much of a water change should I do?

& do i need to disinfect cyphons (sp?), nets, etc? Id like to use my python to clean/fill my tank, but I won't if I can transfer ich to other tanks that way.

Thanks :)

hmm there is no chance of it being alive in the python, after 24-48 hours, becuase if it doesnt find a host by then, it is dead
