Ich?

I think one of the swordtails has ich. It has been hovering at the top of the tank resting on a floating plant. The gills are moving very rapidly and there are small white spots under the chin.

I have read that the parasite cannot survive over 86 F. Can I treat this by slowly turning up the temperature for a few days. I am unsure about meds as I have some yo yo loach and I have been told that some ich meds can be fatal to them.

Any help will be appreciated.

Have you got a hospital/QT tank? I'd put him in there if your unsure about meds. Then treat with any ich meds, maybe some salt, and turn the temp up a bit.
