Hi Everyone!

Well,...sure enough,...new Clown Loach,...now ICH. I have been browsing the site for advice and explanation for Ich treatment, and although there are various entries regarding Ich, I haven't yet found a complete treatment explanation.

I know this involves a medication, turning the filter off, temperature up, and water changes, but need to know the specific steps. Can you all give me a hand? All my water levels are right on, and all other fish still healthy, so I want to jump on this ASAP! Any xtra advice would be great as well.

I know this will take a few minutes of your time, but I would really appreciate the help. It's been so long since I have had ICH to deal with, I just can't remember.

Thanks in Advance! Here is what's in my busy 75 gallon tank:

2 Clown Loaches
1 Betta
4 adult Mollies
7 juvenile Mollies
4 Dwarf Gouramies
2 kissing Gouramies (a pair)
2 Fruit Tetras
3 adult Guppies
1 Pineapple Platy
1 large Pleco
2 large AlgaeEaters

Just one thing to mention though......clown loaches aren't very tolerant of meds.....so perhaps think about using less than the recommended dosage. :D

Also the trick to getting rid of ich is to continue treatment for a few doses after the spots have gone. ICH lives in the water and you need to make sure it has all gone from there too, not just from the fish.

I dont know where you are but in the UK, you can get a treatment called "King British, White Spot Control" which I've found to be really effective.

As the others say, notch your temp up a little as this speeds up the lifecycle of ICH, keep your filter on but remove any active carbon media and treat as directed on the meds (or a little less as your fish are clow loaches).

Hope it works out OK for you.
