Ich

I have ich in one of my tanks.

I have treated it according to the instructions on the protozin bottle.

Taken out the carbon filter pad and treated he water on days 1,2,3 and 6 (today is the 6th day).

Everything seemed to clear up really well until.....I noticed one of my platies had developed white spots again.

What do I do now. Start over again treating on days 1,2,3 and 6 with tomorrow being day 1?

Sorry, only just seen this. It seems strange that the ich would break out again so quickly after treatment. What are the water parameters? Could be the fish are stressed out coz of unsuitable water conditions and stressed fish make them vunerable to diseases like ich.

the reason why you probably had the outbreak again of ich is cause the parasite has to be killed with treatment when it is off the fish. the parasite cannot be killed when it is on a host. that is why i recommnded to you to still treat the fish for three days after the fish stop showing the signs of ich. when the fish is infected with the parasite it will show signs of ich.

I treated the on day one. The fish stopped showing signs. I treated them again on day 2,3 and 6. It was only on the 6th day they started showing signs again. They are not showing any signs now.

The water parameters are perfect.
