Ich

This white dot actually sticks up off the fin, and it almost looks like mold, kinda fuzzy? And it looks like its spreading in that area also.

I raised tep. to 80deg
Have areation going
Put some aquarium salt in (my fish book told me to do those things)

Is this ich? And is there anything else I can do?

If it was ich, there'd be more than one spot, more than one fish infected, and it wouldn't look fuzzy. Nor would the spot grow. Sounds more like a fungal infection to me, but could you provide the following info:

Tank size in litres or gallons
Any test results for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH
Fish affected
Tank inhabitants
How long has the tank been set up?
Any other symptoms?

White dot is it a greyish white colour with a tinging of red.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.
