My silver molly got ICH a few days ago, and as soon as i realized what it was, I began treatment for it. The white spot on my molly went away, but it appears that the medication has affected my algae-eater and catfish. It's either that or... I don't know what.

I did a 25-30% water change today to see if this helps them out. Also, that would dilute the ICH if it's still in there, correct?

Anyways, my silver molly is still not back to its old self.

I guess I was just wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences and how they'd handle it.

P.S. my water levels are all good

read my sig

and for the record, the medication killed 2 of my pictus catfish, that's why now I only have 1

Silver molly is lookin good now, physically. He's still very 'shy'.

One of my orange and black mollies is pregnant, I think. She has a teeny white spot on her, but doesn't seem to notice. She isn't flicking like the silver one did either.

My catfish is looking a little better now after the water change. I'm doing another one today to see if it helps at all.

how are you doing, bstier?

I had ICH on my clown loaches and when i started to use med some of the fish was affected that includes my sailfin plec which died recently. I used it for 6 days and decided to pull it off as my clown loach wasn't really covered just a couple of grains on them, plus the other fish seems to be okay no signs of ICH on them. If I were you i'd jack up the temp all the way to 82 F/28 C and add some salt on it if you don't have any catfish or scaless fish. Good luck

I'd double check the directions on the Ich medication. Some of them recommend half the dosage if you have tetras or any scaleless fish like catfish. You should not use any salt if you have catfish. I've had luck using Ich meds every day for the first 3 days then every other day for 10 - 14 days. Then do a water change and put some carbon into the filter to remove any left over meds. Good Luck.

Just a note - rasing the temp (and using salt) help to speed up the ich cycle but they do not kill the ick. You still need to use an Ich medication.
