I have a 20 gallon tank with two dwarf gouramis, two black sharks and a plecostomus. Both gouramis and both sharks are showing signs of Ich. I got Wardley Ich Out from a lfs and used the first dose. Then I read that the active ingredient in Ick Out is malachite green, which some ppl say isn't the most effective. Any experience with this product or chemical??

I haven't had a problem with malachite green based products and ich.

Malachite geen is quite effective and especially so when mixed with either quinine or formalin. Its also apparently a carcinogen so dont breath in fumes and if it stains your hands wash it off quickly. Dont forget to raise the temp to 84-86F and add some aeration.
Salt is also a help but I see you got a plec so that rules that out.
I would only use half dose maximum, but its your preference the heat will speed up the life cycle of the parasite so it may seem to get worse before getting better. I dont use any chemicals to treat Ich but of course its a personal choice!!

I've recently had the need to use Interpet's Aquarium Treatment No. 6 (White Spot Plus).

It's safe for scaleless fish at full dose (a worry for some people) and did the trick. I'd advise that if yours doesn't work.

The ich in my tank kept coming back so I advise using the treatment at half dose with water changes for at least 2 weeks after visible signs have disappeared.
