hey all, the ich in my tank has somehow.. dissapeared? is that possible? i found out tank had ich about 2 weeks ago and it killed 2 fish. decided to try and let the fish fight it off by adding extra nutrients into food and adding garlic extract cause i simply had no time to do the hardworking treatments with a load of coral in my tank too.

a friend of mine has recently quit the hobby and decided to give me his false perc clown. well i had no where else to put it but my DT, so i did and after a week the clown has no white spots. ???????? anyone care to explain to this noob :D?

and if i havnt mentioned before, i have a cleaner wrasse in the tank that eats all the shrimp and squid i give it varociusly and it cleans my tang and other fish. could this possibly be the reason why ich in my tank is comin to an end? cause i always thought ich multiplys so fast it can beat biological treaments.

PS. random question but are leopard wrasses's immune to ich? someone told me they are but hard to believe.

thx

pm'd you a linky

thx ben, read it but didnt exactly tell me what i should do nor answer my question.. its been a week now and clown still hasnt got it. it shouldnt be a cyst or anything free living right now cause apparently none of my fish have it now.

thx again ben again for the trouble

As you're probably aware, it depends on the temperature of the tank as to the life cycle speed of the parasite. Clowns aren't the biggest fish and so it might just be lucky that it hasn't been infected yet. That's not to say that it hasn't been infected. The wrasse may be picking them off before you notice them.

I'd give it at least another two weeks before I would give the tank the all clear. If your tank isn't at it already, raise it to 80f to increase the life cycle speed of the parasite and keep a close eye on all the fish.

I have no idea if leopard wrasse are immune to ich.
