Hi!

I recently added some new clown loaches to my tank to take my total up to 7. I noticed last Thursday that one of the clowns was starting to show signs of ICH and so I immediately went to my local aquarium who recommended 'Anti White spot plus' (Interpet No. 6).

When I got back (about 10 mins later!) I put the temperature of my tank up to 26 degrees. I removed the Chem-zorb from my rena XP filter and I added 30ml of the White spot treatement to the tank. It is a 300l tank.

On Monday I added a second dose (30ml - 4 days later).

Now on Wednesday - My clowns do not seem to be showing any improvement at all. They are a little worse, but not drastically worse.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there anything more that I can do? Can I give a 3rd dose after another 4 days? Please help.. I don;t know what I should do...

Also my water Params are: Amonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 12

:) i have ich in my tank and after using ws3 there was no change after 8 days. i went to lfs and got some protozin and doubled the dose. worked a treat, its the third day and theres no ich. last treatment due saturday.

black angel, what do you mean you doubled the dose? Do you have scaleless fish in your tank? I used Protozin too and, though I had caught the ich early, a clown loach remained possessive of his couple of spots after the course. I had half dosed the tank, as the bottle advised, but had read somewhere that in hard water areas, a normal dose can be administered with less stress to scaleless fish, such as loach.

I remained unconvinced and called Waterlife who confirmed that, with my water parameters, I could fully dose the tank. I was still wary, though, and decided to do a large water change 48 hours after completing the Protozin course and try a different med. I used Esha Exit which is a three consecutive day course. Each day I carried out a sizeable water change before I treated. My tank was free on day 2, I treated day 3, did a large water change on day 4, then waited. there was no return of whitespot, and that was about a month ago...
