sand do good.im thinkin of rescuing a lfs betta.ive seen some nice looking ones.
i was wonderin if this would be a good setup?
new with bettas.
planning on having a sponge filter

im not sure about sand, i put some in my guppy tank and its a paint, try about a half inch of gravel. everything else sounds great! 2g is more than a betta could ever ask for :D

ok i am getting my 2 g cycled and waiting for a very lucky betta
But how are you cycling it without a fish? Are you pouring ammonia into it or something?

yes i have ammonia i am letting the tank sit for 2 weeks with out ammonia then all add ammonia periodicaly.
now more bloodworms to buy

sand is great. when you first put the betta in there, he might try to eat the sand...but most of them spit it back out
