I Was Wondering...

it would be better then what he's got now. Personally I would only put mine in a min of 2.5 G. Hope this helps :)

o I figured since the second one was bigger it would be better...

That's --betta-- (teehee ^_^) than what he has now of course, but one of these would be even better if you're willing to spend a little more. I have two of my bettas in there... it seems to be the perfect size and yet doesn't make up much room. :flowers:

I would say anything that's one gallon would be good for a betta. If you want him to live the pimp life - got for the mini-bow 5gal w/ heater and make sure he's got some bling in the tank w/ him.

 I'm soo lame!!!

yes but is the goldfish one (the second one I posted) is that okay? Thats ill i would like to know... but thx for the advice.

Yup it's fine even though it says it's for goldfish (it's actually totally way too small for a goldie but that's a different topic ;)). You'd need to add a heater for a betta, though.

do bettas have to have heaters? I have kept a few and know of many ppl who don't use them and the bettas are fine.

In a bowl that small, they don't really need one. I have one in my ten gallon, but my 2.5 and my 3 gallon tanks don't have them. As long as it doesn't get super cold in your room, they should be fine.

And, the goldfish bowl would be just fine, it's well over a gallon. I would not put the filter in it, though. In a tank that small, it would move the water too much for your betta's fins. Leave out the filter and just do 100% water changes weekly. I would keep the smaller tank you have to put him in during water changes. :)

Bettas are tropical fish and even though they can live without one, from what I've seen they're definitely most comfortable with a heater, unless the room they're in stays warm enough.

Regardless of size, whether you need a heater or not depends on the temperature and the stability of that temperature. If your temperature doesn't stay in the mid to upper 70's you need a heater. Also if it doesn't stay consistently around the same temperature without flucuations you'll also need a heater.

The room Rainbow is in is one of the warmest rooms in the house... i think he is fine.

btw rainbow says hi

Just do what I do with my bettas at night, wrap a towel or blanket over the tank at night as it gets colder at night.
