Hi. So i have recently moved my fish from a 10g to a 55g tank. I haven't finished decorating it yet so there isn't any gravel on the bottom. When i feed the fish any food that gets to the bottom doesn't disappear into the gravel (because there isn't any) so the silver dollar can still see it. So he goes down vertically (ie head down, tail straight up) to get the food. Sometimes he is partially upsidedown. So the cory cat has competition now. Guess i might have to buy some sinking pellets for him or something.
The reason i posted this useless story is because i noticed that the bottom of the tank is so clean. I haven't vacuumed it in the 2.5 weeks or so since they've been in there and there really isn't anything that needs to be vacuumed. Kinda makes me wish i didn't have to put some gravel in if they can keep it clean themselves. But it just looks so much better with gravel.

hi cujoho, i have a silver dollar which does a similar thing. If i put a loach tablet into the tank it will grab it off the bottom of the tank then carry it round like a dog with a bone.
