I took a stand today

Well I drove and drove and drove to the fish store and when I got there they had lots of fish that I wanted. Then I saw it. A betta in a tank with drawf puffers. They try to be good and put all the bettas in actual 10 gals and not in cups, but c'mon people, be picky as to what tank to put them in! I said something about it and she says, "Bettas are aggressive fish and he probably came in like that (he was ripped almost to his body) I replied that bettas are aggressive with each other and fish with long flowing fins, but that they were not a match for a puffer. She just kind of huffed and walked away. I said I would be taking my business elsewhere to a store who cares about the well-being of their fish, and I got in the car and drove another hour to a better store.

I do feel bad that I didn't buy him though...poor guy is gonna be picked to death

lol.. i work at a pet store.. and its out of my hands if anyone has a problem with the way things are done... its the owner who says what goes on... ppl complaining to me does nothing... complain to the manager.. its most likely the manager that puts them in there...

id prob just say to sum1 complainin to me to talk to the manager/owner..

Poor fish Ya need to be a little harsher next time You should go in there tomorrow and see if they moved the betta or if the betta is dead.

Before you left you should have put the betta in another tank/container, or bought him...

I took a trip to mine today to get some frozen bloodworms and brine shimp for my boys and girl. I don't know a lot about fish, but I was looking at the betta shelf, and turned around and there were 3 male bettas in what I think was a 20G. With them were (I didn't count) a bunch of other fish probably about 3 times the size of them!!!! Their poor finnage, it was all tore up. Probably from fighting. I was going to say something, but time wasn't on my side at the time.....

Well u cant rely blame the employees at the fish stores, like thellama said wat the boss says goes and if the boss is a moron and doesnt know #### about fish then u guys should be like goin into a store and blowin up on the employees take it the manenger, maybe he does care, hes just a lil ignorant wen it comes to fish. i mean i know if ur gunna b runin a aquarium store u should have some kinda extensive knowledg of fish honestly if i owned that store i probably would of done the same thing, i know absolutely nothing about puffers and would probably think i was doin the right thing giveing the betta a big tank to swin enstead of a lil breeder.

as for the alexsdaddy case, the owner has no excuse to be keeping 3 bettas in the same tank regaurdless of size. you dont need to be a freakin expert to know that fighting fish fight i mean omfg wat the hell was he thinking
