I gave my baracks a water change yesterday. it is divided into three parts, the two far compartments containing male bettas and the middle one a platy.
Anyway, i cleaned the tank and went out, came back several hours later. i kinda glanced in the tank as i walked past, saw everyone accounted for and walked off.... i almost got out the room before i thought something wasnt right and went back for a second look. one of the bettas had some how got into the middle division and the platy was on the outside.
What i think happened was i was playing with the air pipe when i cleaned the tank, and it was left pushing the divider down a bit. so mr betta decided to go visit his neighbour, who didnt like that much and decided to remove himself to somewhere safer. luckly for the platy, the betta was more interested in the other betta in the far division and didnt try following him back over.
you had to be there, but it was quite funny, once id relised the platy was safe to find not only one fish in the wrong place, but two of them!
