well, i was cleaning out my tank today, and i was removing me female betta. and then, i accidentally rammed her against the glass. when i put her back in she just kept on wraping herself around the statue i have in there. what should i do? i feel so bad...

How in the world did you manage to ram her against the glass? That sounds rather difficult.

well, u have to understand with this betta, she gets very, very nervous. so in order to keep her in the net, i have to slide the net up the side of the tank. i accidently hit her with the metal part, i feel even more bad. i'm going to check on her. she seems a little better. she's swimming around in that part of the tank.

Well, she'll PROBABLY be just fine. They can take some fairly concussive injuries very well. But keep an eye on her. There's not much you can do, but, if she's injured, you may have to lower the water level.

don't feel bad, my son was taking his betta out to change the water and clean tank and the betta rammed into the glass because of being startled. He broke his neck because his head was upwards and it was obvious so I put him out of his misery so he wouldn't suffer. I just got another betta, this one we both will take care of, he is in the tank on the kitchen counter and I will make sure to put my hand in the tank before i put the cup in the tank to remove him so he is not startled.

She will be ok. Did you say sorry to her and promise to her that it will not happen again? If not, do it now. :sly:

Yay! I'm not the only one who has deep and meaningful conversations with their bettas! :D

Ahem... yes.

Well, if she's now able to swim, I'd just keep her in nice warm clean water with some Stress Coat to help rebuild the slime layer.

Hope she makes a speedy recovery!

i think she's better now, she's doin her normal things, and ok, i will promise her i'll hever do it again.

Good to hear she's feeling better. They can be fast little devils and I've lost count of the amount of time I've bonked one on the head with a net
