I Think I Have A New Member

I believe I have a new member in my tank; a bristle worm. He is small about 10 mm and all 'bristlely'. If it is are they anything to worry about?

bristle worms are fine, they good scavengers so aid in the clean up of your tank

I've heard the same, that they can be helpful, but only if you have a few and they are small. They are good at cleaning and aerate the sand in the tank. From what I have read they can grow to be close to 2 feet long. Check out this site:

I got loads of them in my nano and they haven't hurt anything. Just mind where you put your fingers when touching the LR and they will be fine (good members of the cuc imo. When My tank was going through its algae stage I saw a bristleworm eating massive chunks of algae ).

i've got some quite large ones in my tank & they've never been a problem & i do have loads of brstle worms.
like barney said thou watch wher you put your fingers cos the sting
