I Now Have 5 Plecs!

I have a 140 litre tank which is approx 36 us gallons, my first pleco was a BN as they dont grow too large then got a Rubbernose, then a clown, then a leopard frog, they all get on fine and there is lots of caves and hiding places, so many infact that i hardly see some of them! Now my partner nows how much i like plecos and she also knows i love the Golded nugget........ so she bought me one as a surprise! There was a bit of tension between this and the leopard frog but all is calm now and happly resting along side each other. My main concern ishow large the golden nugget will get, the LFS told her it was the common type that only grows around 10 cm but ive seen some of the pics on planet cat fish

gold nuggets do get fairly large, but they are very slow growers, so if you've got it small there's a good chance you've a fair few years to upgrade your tank in time for when it gets big

Do you have a picture of him? I'm sure it prolly is a *real* GN (which could be one of three different species with different adult sizes), but, I've seen LFS sell L001s as "common" Gold Nuggets, when really they're not Gold Nuggets at all, and your post rang that alarm bell. This is the problem with common names.

No pics im affraid, he/she is very shy at the moment, im pretty sure its an L081 as its spots are smaller than compared to the L018 and L177.
