Hey guys,

I added some new items to my 30gal tank. A large shell from a Star Fish, Some LiveRock and variouse shells. I hope that the original LiveRock i had in there for 3 months will seed the new ones, because right now they are super white! lol. Do you guys think that the Star Fish shell will mess up my tank like the PH or something, I know shells can do that. Well here they are let me know what your opinions are good and bad. Is the setup design also bad?? Thanks!

i would have though the shell would disintergrate over time.
That rock looks more live reef bones to me. what it sold to you dry? if so thats likely to mess up your ph

okay i'll remove the shell. the rocks i added someone gave to me i didn't pay for them. are they not live rocks? i do have a piece that i purchased that is the exact thing but brown and cycled. I thought it was the same rock and i could use it. can i use it?

Star fish don't have shells - I suspect what you have there is a dead, dried star fish

it was, i removed it. the tank started to stink to high hell. i also removed those reef bones. can i some how cycle those bones and put them in my tank

okay guys. is it safe to leave the reef bones or not, will they seed and become LR?? please take another look at my pics please of the bones.

If it is reef bones then they can go in the tank. Just some reef bones are cured and others not. Best to soak them for a couple of weeks outside the tank first though.

i soak them in salt water or normal tap/distilled?

Either should be OK for reef bones. It's just to remove any waste build up in/on the rock.

I let is soak in water for 2 weeks, i just added them to the tank now. How will i know if they become cycled. They are very white atm.
