Right, I need your help...........

Trod wants a new tank for her Birthday present, as you do!

She wants a tank that will hold the min. of 300 litres and the max of approx 450.
The tank lighting is not that important as it is for Marine preditors who do not require loads of lighting
Will be a reef tank
Will probably have some low light corals
Can be new or second hand - but if second hand must be in tip top condition
We can collect if within a do able distance of Essex
She doesn't want a complete set up (when I say complete, I mean with lr, corals. fish) - she wants to take her time with the set-up and enjoy the planning

Has to look nice

What would your suggestions for tanks and where to buy from?

I am already looking on forums, Ebay and Aquarists classified

Oh one final thing - price, we are flexible on this one - however not talking silly money! So, below £400

i saw some lovely tanks on offer in my local, dont know if its just the shop offering it at special price or the makers. Only 260L but best looking tank ive seen by far.
Fluval osaka 260 with like £200 knocked off

custom made tanks may be worth a look ND aquatics have a good reputation,

alternatively you could look around for a Rio 300 or similar,

someone asked about it on here with that link...i was like omg thats strange and copied it in here. Im sure the RRP on them is way above even the 499 they had it at

What about this one?

Lookie Here

Had my eye on this for ages now

Oh lordy, and wow ------- but in silver, wonder if she could live with the colour!

The Osaka is just soooo very pretty though, but smaller.................oh gawd

Ah, Trod has thrown a spanner in the works...........

she says:

Got to be dark coloured base ---- so no silver tank for her then!
Got to have a lid................so no osaka tank for her!
Bigger rather than pretty.................... 300 litres

back to the drawing board

They have the silver tank in Graphite and she just text me to say that size is the most important thing (now where have I heard that before - oh no, it's size doesn't matter  )
