:( the female from my first spawn is not doing well. She hasn't eaten as much as she use to in the last 2 weeks. She did pick up a little in the last week so i thought she was alright. But last night i found her lying on a plant not moving much so i set up my 1g with a big plant and put her in there. It's now day 2, and i tried to feed her some pellets this morning but she wouldn't take them at ALL. she tried to eat them, and then spit them back out again.

so i deforsted some blodoworms and tried to feed her...bloodworms is like every fish's favorite food but she wouldnt' even sniff it! nevermind spitting it out it never got in her moutht o start

i also saw her puking last night, some brown crappy stuff came out of her, and she's been sleeping all day , ocassionally coming out to look at hte other females beside her, but most of the time she's under the plant napping unless i come by :(

any ideas?

Puking? I have no ideas,cc :( I certainly hope she gets well for you though.

Put some MelaFix and a little salt in the water. Also try BettaMax or Almond Leaves if that doesn't work. If she won't eat frozen or pellet foods, try to aquire some live foods. I hope she gets better!

thanks guys

and yes i have already put melafix and salt into the water, i don't know what else could be wrong though.

I can't get any adult live food around here -_- all i have are microwroms adn those are far too tiny for her. iv'e had her for about 2 months now and it's never been a problem, she use to be the biggest eater

awh cutecotton im sorry to hear bout your girl. :/

i agree with rarefish - i'd give bettamax a shot. it seems to help my fish out.

madont know what could be the problem, maybe shes a little depressed or something. :dunno:

hope she gets better real quick

thanks guys :) shes' a tough one, and such a sweetheart  she's still hanging on, but she's gotten a lot skinner now with wahtever's wrong with her :( i put her next to my other feamle (who is also recovering from breeding), and today she managed to eat 2 pellets!

i hope that this is a good sign and she'll continue to eat a litlte bit more everyday

eee, well eating, even just a little is a good start :)
im happy to hear thats shes got some food in her tummy, hopefully she will continue to pick up.
bestest of luck with her

hi guys, for anyone that cares, the feamle betta that was sick seems to be doing a lot better today! she has eaten at LEAST 8 pellets throughout the day. I feed her more frequently but less than my other bettas, so she's getting something to eat all the time. and she happily gobbles down the food

i hope she gets her weight back soon, she has grown very very skinny the last week or so :(

ahs thats great news cutecotton! im so happy for ya :D and your girl.
i'm sure she'll be back to her regualr size soon.
one of my girls was getting pretty skinny last month, i suspect is was b/c her food was getting stolen by her sister. :sly: i seperated her for awhile and made sure she got her pellets. now shes looking much better, still smaller then her sis thou and i still have to watch and sometimes push her sis away when feeding.

tahnsk maui!! i hope she goes back to her regular size too. I think waht cuased all this was the same thing as yours, her food was constantly stolen by the other bettas! adn eventually it got her so weak that she couldn't get the food anymore. I sepreated her into her own 1G, and she seems to be alrgight :p i'll probably keep her in here for a bit longer, she doens't seem to mind getting all that space on her own
