Hello Iam new to this forum and if anyone can tell me what kind of other tropical fish that can go with Danios? Iam thinking on geting some of them when my tank is ready to go but I want all of your opiion on this.

Thanks. :)

What size tank are you planning?
What species of danio did you have in mind and how many?

Many fish can go with Danios, as they are ditherers, They will be fine with all Peace full community fish (tetra, some catfish, labyrinth and some cichlids)
They can be kept with more aggressive fish, but choose tank mates with care.

As Danios are social fish, they should be kept in groups of 6+

I have a 29 gallon fish tank and as far as what kind of danios to put in thire Iam not sure lol maybe you or someone eles can tell me what kind of danios can go in a 29 gallon fish tank and how many I should get.

Thanks. :)

A general rule of thumb is 1 inch of full grown fish per US gallon. Therefore when all fish are full grown you can have 29 inches of fish. You do want to split this up between fish that stay at the bottom, middle and top of the tank though.

I would suggest going through the section of the forum that has information about all the different types of fish and seeing what you like. Then you can put together a list and get some better answers.

The few Danios i know off hand are Zebra, Leopard and Pearl. All are relatively common, and all should be fine in your size aquarium. These fish should be kept in groups of 6+

Ok I was thinking on geting some zebra Danios and maybe some cory cat fish or some tetras to put in my tank.
And when alege starts to grow I will get a rubber nose pleco they do not get as big.

:)

Hi and welcome to the forum. Danios will be perfect with corys just make sure you have 6+ danios and 4+ corys. have you read the section of this forum about algae eaters its really informative.

How are you cycling your tank?

Hello and thank you for the warm welcome :) now Iam not sure on what you mean by how Iam cycling my tank?
I will be leting it cycle for about month and I have 2 filters going one with the carbon in it and one with
Ammonia carbon. I also put strees coat in my tank and my water comes from the store not my from my home.
The reason for that is because whear I live we have well water and we also have a softener tank in my basement.
I have use my tap water in the past and because of the softener I lost all of my fish I had one time. :( So I
have get my water from the store and they have good water that I know of now maybe this time I will not lose any of my fish.

Hi your welcome, When a tank/filter is unstocked there is no ammonia building up so the bacteria in the filter have no food to eat so they die or never get established there fore needs to be cycled. there are two options with cycling a fishless cycle or a fish in cycle. a fishless cycle is prefered as it dosent expose fish to ammonia but fish in cycle if doen right can befine. if your read on this forum about Cycling it explains quite well. also feel free to ask any questions it can be quite confusing
is the water your getting from the shop RO (reverse osmosis) water or just tap water?
Do you have a testing kit (api masters is the best in my opinion)?
Hope this helps
Lloyd

Hello yes I have a test kit and the water is tap water oh and here is a picture of my fish tank.

As EP06 has stated - read up about cycling the tank. But personally i would think of a better solution with the water. If you dont plan on using the water in your home, are you really going to want to do regular water changes by getting your water from a shop?
