i need help fast with my aunts betta

this betta is almost a year old she keeps him in a gallon and a half betta tank and the water is changed once a week. I havent check any readings yet but his water doesnt have a chance to get dirty just like I said it is changed every saturday Please someone help me save this betta for her she is 87 years old and she got this fish for a mothersday present and it will break her heart if it dies. I have never seen this in a fish before it looks just like white fuzzy stuff comming out the bottom of his gills.

go to your pet store and buy this product called betta fix i think, read the back it should give a description of wat it cures if not look around there should be something there. Act quickly czu my betta was sick from something and i acted too late and it died so good luck

Sounds like a fungus to me. Get some anti-fungus medicine and put it in his tank for a couple of days.

up date thebetta died this evening he got drospy his scales were sticking out andhis belly swellep up the next day he was dead she threw away the tank she has cried over him all evening I think bettas are short lived fish everyone I have had anything to do with has got drospy and died I think she fed the fish to much I tried to tell her not to feed him like she was but she thought that was what he wanted. So if they are any newbies reading this take some advice from me PLEASE DO NOT OVER FEED YOUR FISH BECAUSE IT ONLY CAUSES THEM TO SUFFER.
