this is up for grabs could I get a chinese ale eater and put it in with my fry they are a month old now about a half inch long or if I cant do that how do I get rid of the alge without harming my fry??/
snails dont eat fry
edit : i have never had any "trouble" from snails they dont atttack my fish they nibble plants but that doesnt harm the fish they dont affect the water chemistry ... need i go on
Whatever you do DO NOT USE A ANTI ALGEA TREATMENT these are strong chemicals that can kill any delicate weak or sick fish (and of July this will be made illegal in the UK).Black hair algea is one of the worst algeas to try and get rid of,it is also normally a sign of high nitrate readings so a quick test wouldnt hurt.IMO the only way to get rid of BHA is to remove it by hand,scrape it off as best you can and then do a 25% water change.
