I need a new tank.

I currently have a ten gallon that is far overstocked.

I need nothing smaller than a 30 gallon, but could go higher.

The problem is that I don't have that much money to spend on this venture. I'd like to keep it to around $100. $150 is my max. For my tank, I won't need a heater; it's just for a baby pleco. I plan to up-size as he grows.

Where can I buy tanks? I've tried craigslist, but no luck. People either sell 100 galloners for prices out of my budget ($200), or today, I found a 33 gallon tank, but the person wanted more for the tank and stand than they would be brand new from the shop, and then got defensive when I pointed that out and claimed my "low ball offer," was wasting his time.

So yeah.

My city has a Petsmart, Aqua-World, Pet Connection and Petco. Are there reasonable buys in-store?

I've searched online but can't find anything!

Craigslist has to be your best bet for something cheap, but it'll be hard to find something huge cheap. I'd say if you're looking around $100 a 55 gallon would be on there somewhere, but that'd pretty much be the biggest you'd find under that budget.

I figured when I was looking for my 30 gallon that if I buy it off of craigslist or ebay or something chances are it doesn't come with a heater, filter and a light. I ended up getting a 29 gallon from walmart. It was about $100 and came as a kit with a light filter and heater. They have them at petsmart too.

I just figure you could spend $40-60 on just a tank, then you need to buy a filter and sometimes the top and light don't come with it. It would even out to about the same amount. Even though you don't need a heater i'd try to find a kit if I were you. I think its way cheaper.

Just my experience! :)

Yes, most likely craigslist is the cheepest. So there's no Petco near you? The "Dollar Per Gallon Sale" just past. It ended Juyl 27th. If you have a petco, you can check the store out and see if they have any cheep tank/supplies lasting. Chances are, NO, but you can try.

If you look for the ones that say, Full setup, Then it will most likely be a Full setup!

Ok I was just trying to help, I had a hard time finding any full setups online that were close enough for pickup only.
