This topic has no questions or any problems, I just want to say how much I love my bettas! They amaze me everyday, their tough personalities, their beauty, everything...everytime I look at one they just seem more perfect to me.

I just had to share......you guys are the only ones who understand! :look: :*) :*

I'm giving my mother both of the veiltails I nursed back to health, and even though they aren't very fancy bettas, I have grown so attached to them. Everytime I go into the room and walk over towards them, they are usually on the bottom, but every time, they always swim to the top and stare at me.. If there was a person who looked at this thread and didn't have a betta, they wouldn't understand. I guess that's what you call the sickness of bettas.

i kno whwat you mean sorell, they are just absolutely great :D i swear my bettas know how much i love them

do you kiss them on the lips after theyve had tasty bloodworms?

Oh Nibbles. I would love too, however, Miss Sorrell is deathy allergic to bloodworms and that act would kill her

Then who would be around to post how much they love bettas ;)

How do you know you are allergic to something like a bloodworm?

If I even touch the package I have reactions ranging from eyes swelling shut to going into anaphylatic shock. I've been in the hospital twice from feeding bettas, and I have to take medication when I do water changes or I will have reactions to residuals in the water. Not so fun

whoa! and despite this you still have countless bettas!!

i admire you sorrell

well, if i didn't love bettas i wouldn't spend so much of my time researching, sharing knowledge and getting to know breeders and enthuisiasts from such diverse places as thailand, philippines, singapore, vietnam, malaysia etc. i wouldn't be breeding my own fish. i wouldn't have tanks and jars all over the place, i wouldn't have cultures of this and that growing and i wouldn't have countless fish taking up space. i wouldn't care about traditional approaches to the keeping and care of these fish, i probably wouldn't know what the many many variations of the phrase "plakat" mean (such as plakat cheen, plakat mor, plakat par, plakat tung etc.). i wouldn't care about wildtype plakat either and wonder what i could do to preserve dwindling stocks of mahachai. i wouldn't know the difference between smaragdina and imbellis either. i wouldn't care about cross breeding and it's negative effects on fragile strains and why a "copper imbellis" really shouldn't be advertised as an imbellis. my computer wouldn't be full of 1000's of pics of bettas, i wouldn't be a member of this forum either, if i didn't love bettas. ;)

i call it the betta invasion.. they're easy to become addicted to and to obsesse :3 I adore my bettas too.
