On Monday we went to one of our LFS's and got 4 gorgeous Trilineatus cories. They weren't in the tank for 2 hours and were already spawning. I collected eggs and placed them in my breeding net. Well, they've hatched. I have some really cute, tiny Trilineatus fry. Our pandas spawned again so we have some eggs in there with them.

I can't take any pics, as my lovely camera broke. It refuses to focus and pics all just a blur. Need to either have it repaired or get a new one.

:D

Hi AlexAndCarmen :)

Congratulations on the new fry!

I would love to see pictures of them and hope you get a new camera soon. Perhaps you could borrow one?

That's cool! Can't believe they got jiggy with it so soon! My trili's don't go anywhere near each other so no chances of little fry

Hope you can get some piccies soon (I can hardly talk though as I still haven't put the whippies on here for you  )

Thanks Inchy and Bex

I am really happy they spawned, I've been waiting for months for my Sterbai to do the deed, but nothing and to get these gorgeous little guys and they spawned and gave me eggs, it was brilliant.

My friend had a digital camera, but her house burnt down about 3 weeks ago and she lost everything  , so no one to borrow a camera off. Luckily her and her family are safe, they got out in time.

Anyway. They are ULTRA cute and I look forward to their development. We'll sort a camera out soon, as 2 of our kids will be having their birthdays soon, so we need one for the party.

:D

Awful news about your friend's house! That's just one of the worst things that can happen, glad they are all ok. :good:

I think our trili's are in too big a tank to spawn but they seem happy in there so haven't got the heart to move them into a smaller tank.

No chance of the pandas either since we lost 2 more :( Only got 3 left out of 7 but we finally worked out what the problem was. There was a molly in the tank and we hadn't noticed it until we came back from a mini-break. He was just harassing them and chasing them so I think they got really stressed. We got the molly out and put him in the big tank and he started on the trili's. So we had to quarantine him and take him back to the LFS. He just seemed to have a sudden dislike for cory's of any kind.

Now he's gone the 3 left are happy and healthy and but I think they are all female! :X

Sorry to hear about your panda losses again. What is up with that?? We had mollies at one point, breeding in our 4 foot. But we took them all to the LFS for credit. One managed not to be caught with the rest. She was so tiny, but grew into a huge thing that ate all the food and harassed the cories. She's since joined her siblings at the LFS.

We have the Trilineatus in the 4foot with the other cories and they are together all the time. It is so sweet. The pandas love them, thinking they're just patterned pandas and the Sterbai just think they're small black finned Sterbai!! So they have plenty mates and when they spawned the others were trying to get it on with them  .

I went round my friends house the other day for the first time since it happened and I was so shocked. They'd just got up and grabbed their two kids, at 3am and ran out the house. Alex said when he went their stuff was still there and the kids beds were pitch black. Just a few more minutes and they'd not have woken up. Luckily they have insurance, so things are getting sorted.

Anyway. I hope your remaining three make it. And tell those Trilineatus of yours to get their act together and make you some babies!!!

Keep well and speak soon
Carmen :p

Congrats and well done...I only hope i can convince my panda eggs to hatch, but im not holding my breath...might have to wait for another spawn and try your method.
