Bio-wheel in planted tank = no good. I have cleaned it 4 times in the last week and its still sticking. I have completly disaseembled everything i can and cleaned it and still its starting to stop agian. I am expecting a cascade 1000 in early next week but dont know if i can wait any longer. This is really getting under my skin. Plan was get cascade in and instead of putting on acclimating tank, put it on the planted and move biowheel over to acclimating tank as there would be no plants and other debri to interfear with it. But, cascade is running a little behind on shipping and is wearing on my patience a great deal.

Cascade 1000 up and running on 37g and LOVING IT. No more stinken wheel to worry about and more filtration.

I don't think the biowheels work well in any tank.... does planted make it worse?? Do tell!?

And count me in on the "Ihatepenguins Club" please.

Cannot, for the life of me, stand it. Wish I hadn't spent so much on it, or I would have had the nerve to replace mine a looooooong time ago.

Piece o'crap!!!! (I guess I should tell you how I REALLY feel...)

as long as everything was "perfactly clean" it would work fine, but on planted tanks, i found that it collected alot of debri that it shouldnt clogging it up and stopping the wheel every 2-3 days. Became too much of a hassle to continue to use.
