After the success of last years blooms,my neighbour suggested for me to enter the local 'In bloom'competition, anyhows i was too late last year...

So after debating this year whether it was worth it, i did put into the Keynsham in Bloom.

The closing date was yesterday, today i received confirmation of entry and 2 vouchers for 10% off plants at the local garden centre :)

Judging with be early july.
I'm not expecting to win or owt, although it would be fun
Its container planting & hanging baskets, hopefully the sun will eventually come out to bring the blooms on
I know nowt about gardening apart from watering & dead heading
Wish me luck please :good:

Best of luck.

I find it very relaxin, especially spring, I love my tulips and have loads of them around the house. Trouble is, they don't last long.

I brought on some sweet williams and they came out amazingly well, but they are starting to go a bit now, pity has they did look stunning in full bloom.
i was giving bunches to everyone to keep them going

are you allowed to share any pics?

Ooooh i dunno... i dont think we can offer support as such without photo evidence!!! ;)

Would love to set my mum up for a gardening thing, my mums garden is mad but stunning! She gardens for a living but more, garden maintenance etc, she doesnt know latin/scientific names so she puts herself down and belittles herself compared to others....

But her garden is amazing and she is much loved with everyone she helps :)

To really help your plants bloom give them a feed of potassium :good: , a weekly dose of liquid foliar fertilzer will do them a world of good. Just try not to give them any fertilizers high in nitrogen as that will only engourage big healthy lush leaves instead of flowers. So look for something with a higher K level and slightly lower P and lower N and your flowers should be amazing!

Good luck with your ompetition.

Tomato food is best for aiding with flower production. I work for the local council and i used to judge the 'best kept garden competition' when they used to run it. It was a very good experience, some of the gardens you get to see are simply breath taking.

Good luck in the competition.

Thanks all :)

Here's some pics of my flowers ,i've just watered them before pics were taken, they've got about 3 weeks before the judging,so i hope they come on a bit more...

What do you think?

I don't want to offend you in any way what so ever, but is it the whole garden you have entered? The thing that may count against you is the amount of the hard landscaping you have. I looked for a nice mix and balance between, soft landscaping, hard landscaping, lawn area, quality and care level. Your bedding plants look very healthy and are just starting to come out. I would be hammering the tomato food now. Do half mixture every other day and see if you notice any improvements. The week before judging use half mix everyday.

Yeah looks good mate,Good luck with the comp.... Ive just re-done my little sisters garden...lol...its a work in progress,

It was a wasteland, i removed over 8tonnes of waste, levelled, cut tree back, laid a little patio and an area for a shed, then planted some pots for her, hehe, its so different now, still got boarders and a rockery to do, looks so different mind
