well my boyfriend was very nice on the weekend and decided to buy me a fish so we went to the LFS where i know the sell good quality bettas sometines. Started looking through their tanks and saw quite a few Veiltails, which i wasn't that fussed about then right at the end i i saw a small red betta with the most amazing finnage, a pure red crowntail (crowntails are super rare in Britain) with a slight hint of purple on his scales. So we qucikly bought him for all of £4. So he now lives in the other half of a 3 gallon tank with Riddick and has been named Leon. Hellboy flares at him constantly fo being prettier than him! :p he he he

So next thing to get is some normal sized females for them !!

Just got to wait till christmas now when i get a digital camera and i can show him off to you all!!

P.s Sorry for this pointless post but had to tell someone of my find!! :*)

awww,he sounds fantastic  And no worries over your betta fever,it happens to the best of us :look:

I can understand the excitement of having your first Crown tail.

The Crown tail is truly an awesome betta. A member of the BCS (Betta Club Singapore) Forum once mentioned that it reminds him of "a red Indian Chief ready for battle".

ohhhh good description d chia. i saw your website on another topic and thought it was an excellent source of information and i will now be carding my bettas so they are not flaring all the time. I was so glad to find my crowntail i was thinking i'd have to order one from abroad at quite a bit of expense. You guys are lucky in america and singapore you have soo much choice! But then again if i lived where you guys did i would have a houseful of bettas!!

ohhhh good description
Indeed it is.

This guy also said that the half-moon betta is like "an exotic beautiful spanish woman dancing with her fans". I find this analogy very appropriate and sexy.

Anyway, I'm glad you've got Betta Fever. Cheers.
